By the grace of Almighty and kind support of Principal Sir Mohammed Arif Khan, around 50 Students (girls and boys) attended this session which focused on importance of career planning / options available after 10th and how they can shape their careers.

This was a very interactive session conducted by Br. Simab Khan and students cleared their doubts and were willing to take up professional courses / career path.

Event was organized by Br. Javed Shaikh and Abdul Raoof Khan.

It’s a vast field and remains the most vital ones when it comes to the lives of professionals. It helps them in moving ahead in the desired direction seeking the help of PSF professionals to find the desired job by helping and guiding them. Career guidance remains the key service for the PSF Mumbai for students. It helps unleashing and showcasing a wide range of career options before them. This allows them to choose newer and relevant career options which suit their personality and zest rather than becoming mere copycats and wasting their talents and time in the wrong direction. With various career and job guidance programs, PSF Mumbai helps the students to choose the right direction in education and so in their career path.

The bimonthly meet of PSF Mumbai, held at Mahatma Gandhi Seva Mandir, Bandra began after sunset with the recitation and translation of a passage from the Qur’an by Mazhar Hasan.

Mr. Azhar Rizwan briefed the audience about ‘KAFALAT’, a flagship project of PSF that sponsors child education and other humanitarian aids, followed by the launch of the project website www.educatechild.in by the guest of honour, Mr. Suhail KK, Director of Quill Foundation. Thereafter, Mr. Abdul Qadeer demonstrated the functioning of the website showing its key features.

PSF advisory member Mirza Kamran Baig introduced Mr. Suhail KK and the Quill Foundation. Quill foundation, in a nutshell, is a policy think-tank and has been recently invited by United Nations Human Rights Council’s (UNHRC) Universal Periodic Review (UPR) .

Mr. Suhail began his talk by appreciating the ‘Kafalat’ initiative; he said it is based on the idea of Ehsaan, perfection and professionalism. He gathered the audience’s views about the most common issues of our country, of which the learned speaker highlighted ‘hate’ against and ‘fear’ within the minorities and the other marginalized communities as the most important ones.

Quoting Swati Chaturvedi’s book, ‘I am a troll’, he explained how false stories are being cooked up and spread throughout the country through social media, by a group of people, against the minority community, hinting that the motive of all the fabricated stories is to spread hate and fear. He quoted various statistics and reports to elaborate upon the way in which the social fabric of India is being torn apart.

Citing various historians and scholars he took the audience through the pages of Indian history and the role community leadership has played in shaping the idea of the Indian nation.

He shared a 10 pointer 21st Century survival kit for the community and discussed each of them at length, its strategic importance, pragmatic measures and tangible goals.

The session concluded with Q & A, Syed Farhan Husain and Kamran Mirza jointly hosted the event.A sumptuous dinner was served to the attending professionals and their accompanying family members and everyone departed with a new vigor, motivation and commitment to support PSF and contribute towards the cause championed by it.

As part of the ongoing series of ‘Expert Lectures’, a seminar on Infra Monitoring, AD Windows, VMware & Future Technologies was conducted here under the aegis of Professionals Solidarity Forum, Mumbai (PSF) for Second Year to Final Year IT students. The topic was chosen as per the requirement discussed with the institute’s IT Dept faculty. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Sohail Patel, a professional in the same field, having more than 13 years of rich experience and currently working as IT Infra Operation Lead at Capgemini.

After the welcome address by Assistant Professor, Mrs. Shabina Syed, a short introduction of PSF, need of such an organization in today’s scenario along with its varied activity spheres and especially the ‘Expert Lectures’ program was brought to the fore for the audience by Mr. Yahya from PSF.

After this, the stage was handed over to Mr. Sohail Patel who in his unique style mesmerized the audience for the next 1 hour. He began by emphasizing upon the need of a ‘Mindset Change’ and building a ‘Solid foundation’ so that the students would be able to cope with the changing dynamics of the IT industry.

Citing relevant examples of the technical domain and the role of new technologies like IOT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data and Active Directory he encouraged the audience to grab the opportunities that the future brings along.

Mr. Patel’s parting message for the students was ‘focus on technologies which are about to BOOM rather than spending time and money on technologies which are about to DOOM.’ The audience felt inspired when he spoke of his humble beginnings and the way he has climbed this far.

The lecture series was appreciated by the faculty, the HoD expressed her gratitude towards PSF for their efforts and taking up this cause to bridge the gap between Academic Curriculum and Industry.

In an evening to remember, the 4th convention of professionals belonging to an array of fields was successfully held at the St. Pius Bio-medical Hall by the Professionals’ Solidarity Forum (PSF).

The session commenced with the recitation of the Qur’an, after which the convenor of PSF Mumbai, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad welcomed the participants and introduced the forum to new members.

The convention was then graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Shabbir Ahmed who is the lead technical architect at Microsoft. The erudite speaker enlightened the audience on the need and path of achieving a ‘Paradigm Shift’. He elucidated the concepts with an effective usage of multimedia images, videos, orchestrations and anecdotes and elicited enthusiastic responses from the participants.

He explained how a change of paradigm is the most difficult thing to do and requires a strong will for a person to go ahead. He averred that doing so will not only help in resolving most of the conflicts we have in our personal lives but also conflicts in the corporate sector, our marital life and even those encountered on a community level with regards apparently irreconcilable ideologies and schools of thought. This shift can also help extirpate the inhibitions that keep us from stepping up in life, from climbing the corporate ladder and becoming CEO’s, for instance. Perception, point of view and denial mindsets were the primary concerns addressed in the session.

After the lecture, PSF Convenor informed about the upcoming initiatives and ongoing activities in the backdrop, a sumptuous dinner was served to the attending professionals and their accompanying family members and everyone departed with a new vigour, motivation and commitment to support PSF and contribute towards the cause championed by it.
