The session encouraged self-reflection, discussion, and practical application of focus-enhancing techniques suitable for students and educators alike. Overall, it was a meaningful and engaging experience that emphasized the importance of ” meaning” as a shield against every distraction.

PSF Mumbai Steps Up for Chikhali Demolition Victims

In response to the large-scale demolitions in Chikhali, Pimpri-Chinchwad, which left nearly 1 lakh workers jobless, PSF Mumbai stepped forward to provide urgent assistance to those affected. As part of our commitment to social welfare and humanitarian aid, we contributed Rs. 25,000 towards a food drive to help some of the most severely impacted workers and their families.

The Crisis in Chikhali

The demolition drive carried out by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) resulted in the loss of numerous small businesses, including scrap shops and warehouses. Many daily wage earners and small business owners found themselves in an extremely vulnerable situation, struggling to meet basic needs such as food and shelter.

PSF Mumbai’s Immediate Response

Understanding the gravity of the crisis, PSF Mumbai quickly mobilized resources to contribute to a food drive benefiting affected workers and their families. This initiative was carried out in coordination with local volunteers who ensured that the food reached those most in need.

Looking Ahead

PSF Mumbai has a long-standing commitment to social service and humanitarian aid. Alongside emergency relief efforts, we also run two major charity initiatives:

Neki Basket: A welfare initiative focused on food and dry ration distribution. Our kitchens at Jogeshwari Khadan Basti and Ambujwadi Malad serve 10 meals per month per location, distributing approximately 100 food packets per meal to those in need. Kafalat: A project dedicated to supporting the education of underprivileged children, particularly orphans and those from financially struggling families. The initiative has helped over 200 students across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and suburban areas. PSF Mumbai Hosts Successful Fees Distribution Event at Mira Road

PSF Mumbai recently held a well-organized and impactful fees distribution event at Mira Road, fostering a spirit of learning, unity, and motivation among parents and children.

The event began with an inspiring Tazkeer by Sis Nusrat Ansari, who recited Surah Asr, emphasizing the importance of doing good deeds and maintaining faith in both this world and the hereafter. Her message encouraged sincere effort and the pursuit of good actions in every aspect of life.

Next, the event featured a demonstration of the new parent login feature on PSF Mumbai’s website, allowing parents to easily access essential information and enhance communication with the institution. This development aims to further improve the digital experience for the PSF community.

A key highlight of the event was the cheque distribution ceremony, where PSF Mumbai honored parents with financial support, celebrating the collective efforts and community spirit.

The program concluded with a motivational speech by Brother Nawaz, who shared valuable insights on the importance of education, perseverance, and teamwork in achieving a brighter future. His words were inspiring for both parents and children alike.

Heartfelt testimonies from parents and children were also recorded during the event, with the coordination and insightful thoughts of Brother Faisal, Sis Ariba, and Kashfee playing a key role. Their efforts in capturing these heartfelt stories reflect their deep compassion for PSF’s social service programs, such as Kafalat and Neki Basket. The testimonies will be shared on social media, showcasing the positive impact of PSF’s work and inspiring others.

PSF's Core Social Service Team Engages with Students and Parents During 2nd Term School Fees Distribution

On the occasion of the second-term school fees distribution, PSF’s core social service team had the privilege of meeting with students and parents. The event proved to be a fruitful and enriching interaction, fostering a sense of connection and understanding between the PSF team, the students, and their families.

During the informal talks, PSF members took the opportunity to listen to the challenges faced by students in their academic journey. Practical tips were shared, such as minimizing mobile screen time, creating structured study schedules, and staying focused on academic goals. These discussions served as a valuable platform for addressing concerns and offering guidance to enhance the students’ learning experience.

As the second academic term kicks off, PSF’s Kafalat Project continues to make a significant impact, benefitting over 200 students across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and suburban areas. This sponsorship initiative focuses on assisting students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, including orphans and those raised by single parents. The program aims to provide these students with the opportunity to receive quality education, irrespective of their financial challenges.

While engaging with the students and parents, the team was heartened to hear several success stories from the Kafalat program, which was launched in 2017. These success stories stand as a testament to the positive difference PSF has been able to make in the lives of many students over the years.

With the 10 sacred days Dhul Hijjah starting, PSF Mumbai organized an Online Webinar to help understand the significance of these days, historical learning from the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. and his son Ismail A.S. and modern day implementation of the learning in our lives.

The guest speaker who adorned the virtual stage was Adv. Faiz Syed, Founder and President, IRC Aurangabad.

After tilawah of the Holy Quran, Adv. Faiz Syed addressed the audience in his unique style, sharing the importance of the first 10 days of the holy month, briefly describing the life of Ibrahim A.S., events leading to the testing of Hazrat Ibrahim A.S. and how he and his son excelled & were ultimately rewarded for their sacrifice. He reiterated that the message of Eid-ul-Adha is not only animal sacrifice but to enable us to sacrifice our time, skills & wealth where Allah intends, to help others and this can be achieved by remembering blessings of Allah upon us.

The session was followed by Q&A where the audience asked very pertinent questions and, as was expected, the Speaker mesmerized one and all with his eloquent responses.

May Allah make us from those who internalize the key learning from this Festival of Sacrifice, accept our endeavours in his path and grant us a seat in Paradise along with his beloved Prophets.

COVID Waves & Vaccination: Myths & Expert Opinion

Protect Yourself and Save Others – Doctors echo in COVID Webinar organized by PSF Mumbai and MSS

In view of the widespread myths and confusion surrounding Covid, vaccination and the psychological impact thereof, Professional Solidarity Forum (PSF) Mumbai teamed up with Medical Service Society (MSS) Maharashtra to present a panel discussion on ‘Covid Waves and Vaccination: Myths and Expert Opinion’. Dr. Suhail Khan (DNB Medicine), Dr. Muhammad Rizwan (Molecular Biologist and Vaccine expert) and Dr. Danish Sakeb (Consultant Psychiatrist) graced the panel.

Dr. Parvez Mandviwala (National Vice President and State President of MSS) engaged with the eminent speakers and asked them questions related to the clinical treatment and precautions that need to be taken. Dr. Suhail Khan suggested that patients should never resort to self medication; they should seek medical help as soon as they develop symptoms. He also emphasized upon the need to follow Covid protocols like wearing a mask and acting responsibly.

Dr. Muhammad Rizwan made it very clear that vaccines are safe and that all eligible citizens should definitely get themselves inoculated. He rebuffed the myths and conspiracy theories surrounding vaccines and laid bare the facts in light of published research on the subject.

Dr. Danish Sakeb motivated the audience to develop a positive attitude vis-a-vis the depression and financial insecurities witnessed during the pandemic and lockdown. He offered practical tips to overcome stress, and urged the audience to help those in need of emotional and spiritual support.

Questions from the audience were taken up in the last fifteen minutes, after which Br. Yahya Azhar (President, PSF Mumbai) extended the vote of thanks.

Professionals’ Solidarity Forum (PSF) Mumbai on 22nd November (Sunday) organized their online monthly webinar around the theme of Entrepreneurship. Guest speaker for this Zoom session was Mr. Hamzah Muazzam Ali, CEO of Standard Touch, a successful organization in the field of Web Design & Development based out of Gulbarga, Karnataka.

Speaking on the topic of ‘How to Be Your Own Boss’, the experienced guest shared nuggets of wisdom from his 13-year journey as an entrepreneur. He traced his steps from the first start-up he founded, the mistakes he made and the learning he obtained. From the importance of marketing, being a micro manager when staring out, role of ethical & moral values, nitty gritty of partnership & trust within the team, art of delegation and concluding with idea of scaling up — Mr. Hamzah conducted a highly interactive session with a set of 50 active participants. Key qualities to develop for being a successful entrepreneur were voiced out as self-control, consistency, patience and focus.

Consistent with the topic, Br. Ajaz Ahmed, City Convenor of PSF, Mumbai also announced the establishment of Start-up & Consulting department in the PSF set-up which would be led by Br. Murshid Khan, an active Core Committee member of the organization and Associate Director at UBS.

The Banegar English High school auditorium, Mira Road was once again illuminated with scores of professionals from Mira Road (Thane) attending the PSF bi-monthly convention along with their families to attend Triangle of Life – A Parenting Workshop“

Program host, Brother Farhan, welcomed the audience with greetings and appreciated their presence.

Program started with recitation and translation of the book of guidance for Mankind, The Qur’an, Surah At-Tahreem Ayah# 6-7 (https://quran.com/66/6) by Br. Mazher Hassan. Br. Mazher explained aims and objective of PSF Mumbai and announces vision of splitting PSF Mumbai into 3 localise chapter namely PSF Mira Road, PSF Navi Mumbai and PSF Rest Of Mumbai

The guest speaker, Mr. Danish Aga, Co-Founder of Sky Education, Ex Vice President JP Morgan, Educationist. Motivational Speaker started his talk with an enthusiastic approach by engaging audience by asking question what audience understand with topic “Triangle of Life” . He covered zones that our children spend most of their daily time i.e. Home, School, and Play areas. It covered role of parents to prevent their children from getting lost in these zones. Also, workshop emphasized the importance of Life Skills for parents with examples and case studies which eventually could help prevent children and families from getting lost in current times! These Life Skills were based on World Health Organization (WHO) framework.

Br. Mudasir updates on the Kafalat project (www.educatechild.in), the flagship program of PSF. He urged everyone present to spread the word on the idea of sponsoring a child’s education, donating generously and supporting with Sadqat and Zakat.

Program concluded with vote of thanks by PSF Mumbai convener Mr. Naveed Anjum followed by dinner and a healthy networking session.

Professional Solidarity Forum against Mob Lynching.

Professional Solidarity Forum-Mumbai joined protest against Mob Lynching.

In a massive show of solidarity, hundreds of Mumbaikars braved the torrential rains and joined the leaders and representatives of close to 30 social and political organisations to gather at the iconic Azad Maidan this afternoon to protest against the unending spree of mob Lynching being witnessed all over the country.

Professionals had also gathered in large numbers to discharge their civil responsibility. The Convenor of the Mumbai chapter of Professionals’ Solidarity Forum, Mr. Ajaz demanded that mob lynching should be declared an act of terrorism and that the accused should be tried in fast track courts under anti-terrorism laws.
