13 Feb. 2022. Jogeshwari W( Khadan chawl) : PSF Mumbai conducted a short survey for deciding beneficiaries of Project Neki Basket owned by IRCT to be run by PSF Mumbai. In sha Allah
PSF Members from Western chapter joined the survey. Survey started with short Tazkir of Br. Ab Qadeer by famous Hadith about running for the cause of feeding poor ( miskeen) and widows is better than etekaf at Masjid Nabvi. (Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:“It is more beloved to me that I walk with my brother to fulfill his need than I stay secluded in [optional] i’tikaf in the Masjid of Madinah for a month”
Prophet (SAW) once said: “The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah’s cause.”
( According to book 73/6 the Sahih Bukhari)

The team met number of needy families who lives in very small congested houses, where walking even side ways was difficult. Family had lot of members with minimal income. Cancer,paralysed patients. Families with mentally retired children etc.
As a token 7 families were given One month Ration consisting of basic daily items. Alhamdulillah

A successful demo run at Jogeshwari Mumbai will be rolled out throughout Maharashtra by IRCT.

By the grace of Almighty and kind support of Principal Sir Mohammed Arif Khan, around 50 Students (girls and boys) attended this session which focused on importance of career planning / options available after 10th and how they can shape their careers.

This was a very interactive session conducted by Br. Simab Khan and students cleared their doubts and were willing to take up professional courses / career path.

Event was organized by Br. Javed Shaikh and Abdul Raoof Khan.

PSF South Mumbai chapter organised its first get-together on 11th Dec 2021, Saturday evening at Madanpura, Byculla. The program was attended by total of 18 members.

Post Tilawat and translation of the Holy Quran by Br. Khalid Ansari, The Guest speaker, Dr. Hanif Lakdawala a professional himself with 30 years of experience then took on the stage and mesmerized the audience with topic – “Role of Muslim Professionals in Indian Society”.

This was followed by brief introduction of PSF by Br. Yahya. Highlighting the Objectives of PSF and journey over the last 4 years, he shared an update on the flagship Kafalat project. Sponsoring the needy students on the website www.educatechild.in was explained and urged to participate in the noble cause.

This was followed by chapter lead Br. Abdul Raoof who shared his views on way forward for New Chapter. Towards the end, the session was very interactive in open forum, some real issues faced in Society were discussed and valuable and unique suggestions were shared on how PSF can help overcome these issues.

Vote of thanks was delivered by the Br. Yahya Azhar who also inspired the members to ponder over new ideas and avenues where they believed PSF would be able to make an impact in the young chapter. A networking session over dinner concluded the day.

With the ongoing auspicious month, PSF Mumbai organized their monthly event on the topic Importance of Seerah in a Professional’s Life.

Hosted on Zoom on this Saturday, the guest speaker for the evening was a veteran professional – Janab Moin Don who mesmerized the audience with nuggets of wisdom on the subject.

In his eloquent style, he shared and helped refresh many teachings of the Prophet (PBUH). Best was, each of the teachings are relevant, applicable and practical for every professional.

Qualities of the Perfect Leader: Charity begins at home: ensure the guidance of family members as well, not just self
Allah loves the Mohsineen: Excel in whatever you do: don’t be satisfied with “run of the mill” approach, rather be the face of the crowd
Prophet was an Excellent Communicator: Learn from the communication skills of the Prophet (PBUH): be a good listener, be explicit and clear
Lead by Example: Be the leader that the team always wants to stand up with
Use of Media & understand role of its Power: Stand up against Islamophobia, be the perfect ambassador of Islam in your circle
A Strong Believer is better than a Weak One: Take care of your health; upgrade your skillset, education, strive for best
Dawah is the core of Islamic tenets: Be the one to give Dawah with your actions and speech

Decorate the Deen & Dunya of your Kid

With the rise of modernism and widespread fitnah, the need for Islamic parenting has become all the more critical. Sensing the scenario, PSF Mumbai organized a workshop this Sunday (26th Sept) on Parenting: Raising a Muslim Child which was conducted by Br. Abdul Mannan Ali, Entrepreneur, CEO Standard Touch and a Life Coach.

Not only was the workshop informative, but also extremely interactive and engaging. The event started with Br. Mannan asking the audience the need for Islamic parenting; the answer to which rightly is — it’s a duty Allah has entrusted the parents with, which is mentioned in the Holy Quran.

📝 Some of the key aspects covered during the 1-1/2 hour workshop included:
For building confidence & trust — embracing our kids and letting them know that they are loved
👶🏻 Importance of starting early on; being mindful of the environment and what the pregnant mother consumes of knowledge or otherwise
🧕 Being a role model for our children and minding our own actions as children emulate what we do, not what we ask them to do
🕋 Nurture their love for Allah and his messenger. Draw lessons from the Qur’an to keep them in touch with Deen
🤦‍♂️ Let the children realize their own mistakes. Instead of correcting them, question them and let them reflect and think of their own mistakes
🕵️‍♂️ Not correcting every minor mistake they make, instead correct the major ones and the minor one will fall into place
👮‍♂️ Frequent reprimanding may lead to losing our value before kids and may end up in opposite behaviour of what we expect
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Give young children enough time and engage with them so that when they become teenagers they will give you their time

In addition to anecdotes from Quran and Hadees, stories of prophets & learned sahaba, Coach Mannan also shared his personal life experiences:
💰 You can teach money management to your kids by trusting them with money and giving them the opportunity to learn how to use it themselves. When they start spending with responsibility, they will learn to save as well in the process
🏠 For encouraging household work, make a healthy competitive environment between the siblings.

🍔📱 Br. Mannan also answered practically the challenges pertaining to child’s screen time, healthy eating and instilling discipline.
